Semerkent has now been merged with gtranslator and is now developed to extend the formats capabilities of the learn buffer routines of gtranslator - it will allow there the export into formats like TMX, OpenTag or such...

So for future progess you need to go ot http://www.gtranslator.org - the sources are moved into the source tree of gtranslator in the GNOME CVS repo, so that you have got to look there for any piece of interesting cake :-)
